First impressions
I ordered this mascara from plastic freedom. My first thought was that it was small in size. I was so excited to try this mascara and I tried it out straight away! I found it was clumpy on my lashes and it didn’t apply properly. But this my fault because I was using too much water!
My EXPERIENCE

Is it easy to use?
Since this cake mascara comes without a brush. I use Ecotools brow spoolie brush and Ecotools angled brush for both mascara and eyeliner. Once mixed with a small amount of water; its very smooth as mascara and non-clumpy, and as liquid liner it was so smooth and non-dragging, and it applied super black.
Does it irritate the eyes?
I can’t use waterproof mascara because it irritates my eyes; so this mascara is perfect for me. I had zero irritation from this cake mascara!
Does it transfer?
I found sometimes it would transfer to my bottom lashes. If I used solely a facial sunscreen (a light cream), and avoided the eye area. This would solve this problem.
Is it easy to remove?
This cake mascara is a breeze to remove with a gentle makeup remover and reusable makeup wipes. I don’t need to scrub my eyes, which helps keeps my eyes irritation free.
Did I have any problems?
The formula is build-able, but I really wished it gave my lashes more volume. As a glasses wearer I need volume rather than length.

SUMMARY
I love that this mascara is zero waste, cruelty free and multi-use! I love that this mascara is so smooth and non-irritating. I just wish it was more voluminous. My overall experience was very positive! This is my first experience using a zero waste mascara and I am super impressed!
The Bain & Savon Cake mascara costs £8.50, and I highly recommend it! Click here to watch me apply the cake mascara on IGTV. Are you keen to try this mascara? What do you think about cake mascaras? Leave a comment below or tweet at me.
